Snag and Sons

On the weekends, it seems that I always miss breakfast and start my day off with brunch. This particular Saturday was no different but this day we had some places to try out. One of these was Snags and Son.
Upon entering the eatery, we were greeted warmly and were guided through the menu. I’m a drink fanatic and love to try out new drinks. To accompany my meal was this.

Snags and Sons - Almdudlec
Snags and Sons – Almdudlec

I was told this is German lemonade. The drink is not sweet with a touch of bitterness and tartness. I don’t know how to describe the flavour with my best attempt being: “watered down lemon juice with no sweetnees”. Nonetheless it did its job with the following meal.

Snags and Sons - Smoked Kranski and Toulouse Sausage
Snags and Sons – Smoked Kranski and Toulouse Sausage

The bread roll encasing the sausages were nice and soft which is always a good thing. Upon biting into the smoked kranski I was hit with the smokiness and saltiness of a good kranski. The mustard and pickle formed a great trio with the sausage. However the sausage is quite coarse which makes it sometimes gristly.
The Toulouse sausage is a pork sausage but is also a coarse sausage. That hot dog has lovely brie cheese which makes a strange combination with the pork sausage as they both don’t have strong flavours. Just to comment on the sausages again, the sausages here are more coarse than the one found at Elmar’s but not as coarse as the Elmar’s coarse bratwurst.
With many other options to choose from, I’m sure I will be back.

  1. Hi I Eat 2 Fast, this review has resulted in me calling up my girlies and making a snag date at Harry De Wheels (Sydney, you have to try it if you visit! its a very dodgy looking cart but the best hotdogs ever)…there goes the diet! I was wondering if I could maybe get some help? I’m working on a dating app atm, and a part of the app will have bloggers recommending 5-10 places in their city to check out for a first date, I was wondering if you might recommend maybe a few places you love? I will put links up to your blog on the app and so far we have 2,000 signed up to download the app (I’m pretty surprised but so excited!) you can pop on here – or email me on xxx
