On the weekends, it seems that I always miss breakfast and start my day off with brunch. This particular Saturday was no different but this day we had some places to try out. One of these was Snags and Son.
Upon entering the eatery, we were greeted warmly and were guided through the menu. I’m a drink fanatic and love to try out new drinks. To accompany my meal was this.
I was told this is German lemonade. The drink is not sweet with a touch of bitterness and tartness. I don’t know how to describe the flavour with my best attempt being: “watered down lemon juice with no sweetnees”. Nonetheless it did its job with the following meal.
The bread roll encasing the sausages were nice and soft which is always a good thing. Upon biting into the smoked kranski I was hit with the smokiness and saltiness of a good kranski. The mustard and pickle formed a great trio with the sausage. However the sausage is quite coarse which makes it sometimes gristly.
The Toulouse sausage is a pork sausage but is also a coarse sausage. That hot dog has lovely brie cheese which makes a strange combination with the pork sausage as they both don’t have strong flavours. Just to comment on the sausages again, the sausages here are more coarse than the one found at Elmar’s but not as coarse as the Elmar’s coarse bratwurst.
With many other options to choose from, I’m sure I will be back.
